diRtbag clean-up week
|
HoWL's DiRtBaG Clean-up week is back for the 2022 season, just in time to celebrate Earth Day! Youth ages 9-18 are invited to meet after school at the Bishops Beach green on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday where they will be assigned teams and dispatched around town to clean up our beaches and roadways. Snacks and t-shirts will be provided. On Saturday, we will clean up trash along the beach from Mariner Park to Bishop's. At 2:30pm we will celebrate the 2022 clean-up in the Bishop's Pavilion with pizza and an awards ceremony for the youths who contributed their time and energy over the week.
We encourage participants to collect pledges to help us raise money for HoWL's DiRtBaG scholarship fund. Prizes for pledge earners will be awarded during the Saturday Celebration. Click here to download a pledge sheet. Want to help? We need volunteers to help drive crews of kids during clean-up week as well as some enthusiastic trash-talliers, beach hikers, and ceremony assistants. You can also donate snacks for our after-school pick up days. Email us for more information about this Homer tradition or to volunteer! Click here for a printable 2022 DiRtBaG waiver form. This form must be signed if you intend to have your student participate. Copies will be available at drop-off as well. ![]() Donate to the DiRtBaG scholarship fund! |
