Just imagine sea kayaking in Kachemak Bay, dipping for red salmon, harvesting edible sea weed and cooking it all over an open fire. Now imagine that is your life for three whole days, it doesn't get better than this!
Beach to beach, low tide to campfire, sleeping under the stars with friends. There is nothing better than the bounty of Alaska in the summer! We’ll be casting, digging and dipping for our dinner and learning the edible plants of the area. Students will learn sea kayak safety as well as how to harvest and prepare a delicious ocean edible harvest!

As on all HoWL trips, health, safety, teamwork and leadership development and fun are key elements to the success of the trip. Lessons on all of the above will enrich the expedition during teachable moments. HoWL instructors have all the experience they need to keep everyone safe and having fun!
Please note your Client Responsibilities: 1) all clients will be required to follow the safety policies and procedures of HOWL and the guides’ instructions during activities. 2) All clients (and parents) will be required to sign a Participant Release of Liability, Waiver of Claims, Assumption of Risks and Indemnity Agreement in favor HOWL before departing on any trip; and 3) each client (and their parents) agree and acknowledge when they sign up for HOWL activities that they have significant responsibilities for their own safety and they agree they are ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE for their own safety during participation in HOWL activities.
